inspiring. uplifting and enriching communities through the power of song.

Thursday January 18, 2018

The International Community Mass Choir (ICMCC) was founded in the fall of 2006 by Ministers Alton & Mercy Lee, with the encouragement of Rev. Emmanuel F. Karnley, who at that time started up an organization called the African Pastors Association of Greater Charlotte. Rev. Karnley saw that Brother and Sister Lee had a gift in the music ministry and based upon that, he encouraged them that God wanted them to start a music ministry in Charlotte among African communities.

In submission to God’s will, Minister Lee and his wife started the International Community Mass Choir, also known as the African Community Mass Choir. The choir started with a few committed people; some of which are still part of it today.

Our first performance was at the first Pastors Association’s revival in November of 2006. In March of 2009, the choir was launched by hosting its first ever concert. Since its launching, the International community Mass Choir that started off with only Liberians, has now expanded to other nationalities including, Cameroonians, Ghanaians, Sierra Leoneans, Nigerians, Trinidadians and African Americans. It’s our prayer to expand to other African nations represented here in the United States. We are privileged to be blessed with the gift of music. God in His infinite mercies has called us reach the lost souls through Praise & Worship.

Our Mission:

“Inspire, uplift, and enrich communities through the power of song; preaching Christ Jesus to all.”

Our Vision:

Our vision is to reach all people, race, nations with the gospel of Jesus Christ; reaching the unreached

Praise & Worship:
Obedience to God: King David became the apple of God’s eyes because he was obedient to God with his worship in songs of praise and worship.

Giving back to this great nation for opening its doors to us Africans
Partnering with organizations to feed, clothe, provide shelter, and educate the less privileged children in the world.

Our Goal:

Making Christ known where no one has heard about Him in this way.  The bible rightly says that all other work is going to come to an end expect the act of praise and worship that we are all going to do when we get to Heaven. Evidently, we are pressed to let others know that singing praises to God makes a great difference in one’s life.
